Orthopaedics Opportunity in Bowling Green, KY

Western Kentucky Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical Associates (WKONA) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or APRN to join our established orthopedic team in Bowling Green, KY. This role is tailored for a highly motivated provider interested in general Orthopaedic care, with an emphasis on musculoskeletal conditions, sports medicine and spine. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the Physician as well as nursing and support services to provide patient-focused care. Responsible for providing direct patient care within the practice & directive of collaborating physician; assessment and management of patients; day to day implementation and evaluation of the appropriate plan of care; serving as a consultant, researcher, and educator.

Independent outpatient clinic caseload

Opportunity to assist with procedures and surgeries (if desired)

No weekends, no overnight call

Work across WKONA’s Bowling Green headquarters and satellite clinics

Work with experienced spine-focused orthopedic surgeons in a collaborative model.

Performs history & physicals, documentation of findings; communication with collaborating Provider.

Orders appropriate diagnostic testing; reviews results/ informs patients & Providers of findings and required follow up.

Patient education and support.

Ensures continuity of care for follow-up treatments.

Other duties as necessary under direction of Provider/s and Administration.

AS EXPECTED WITH ALL HEALTHCARE POSITIONS, MUST ADHERE TO HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN REGULATIONS AND MAINTAIN ASSOCIATED WORKPLACE TRAININGS.

Qualifications:

Active Kentucky Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high focus on quality patient care in teamwork-oriented environment.

Previous work experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

Experience with orthopaedics or musculoskeletal care preferred -- all candidates will be considered.
