AdventHealth Medical Group Neonatology at Ocala Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Neonatal Physician Assistant

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Neonatal Physician Assistant Opportunity available in the Ocala, Florida area. AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking dynamic and energetic provider to work in our Level II NICU. The provider in collaboration with the neonatology will cover the 12 bed level 2 NICU at Ocala along with the newborn service.

General Summary:

• The APP is responsible for providing care for NICU and Newborn patients within the scope of licensure and within the supervising physician's scope of practice
• Evaluate patients, perform procedures, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines and under the guidance of the Neonatologist
• Communicate with parents, other specialists and among NICU team
• Monitoring specialized equipment, including incubators and ventilators
• Providing education and support to patients’ families regarding neonatal, intensive and, postpartum care
• Dispensing medications under collaborative agreement with a physician
• Performing diagnostic tests and other procedures, such as intubation and blood draws
• Ensuring proper feeding and basic care

Schedule Details:

• 24-hour shifts (8am-8am)

Required Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies with Neonatal Certification (required)
• 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as an RN (highly preferred)
• 1-2 years of experience in the NICU as a Neonatal APRN or Neonatal PA-C (preferred but not required)

Required Licensure and Certification:

• Must hold a valid Florida APRN or PA License with Neonatal certification
• Certification through ANCC, or other nationally recognized certifying body
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
