Physician Assistant, Orthopedic Surgery

SSM Health Dean Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join its Orthopedic Surgery team in Janesville. This is a dynamic role offering a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and surgical responsibilities, with opportunities to work independently alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons.

Opportunity Highlights: 

• Provide care across inpatient, outpatient clinic, and operating room settings
• Participate in a variable weekly schedule, with potential outreach
• Assist in surgical procedures as first-assist in the OR
• Share call responsibilities: 1 weekend/month + 1 weekday/week
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and clinical teams
• Hold privileges at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Janesville & Madison

 Qualifications: 

• Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
• Wisconsin PA certification required
• First-assist OR experience preferred
• Prior orthopedic surgery experience strongly preferred

 Practice Environment: 

• Janesville East Clinic: ~50 physicians across multiple specialties
• SSM Health St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital:
• Modern 50-bed facility opened in 2012
• Adjacent physician office complex for seamless workflow
• Equipped with MAKO robotic surgical system
• Full-service hospital including ICU, Urgent Care, and Radiation Oncology
• Epic EMR system integrated across the network
• 60-minute ER response time for orthopedic cases
