Mercy Health- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Sleep Medicine (Anderson/ Clermont Hosptial)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NP or PA to join our specialized Sleep Medicine team. The non-physician provider will collaborate with a board-certified sleep specialist to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with a variety of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, and circadian rhythm disorders. This role involves both outpatient clinical responsibilities and coordination with sleep laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, sleep history, physical exams, and review of diagnostic studies (e.g., polysomnograms, home sleep studies, CPAP compliance reports).
  • Diagnose and manage common sleep disorders under the supervision of a sleep medicine physician.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding sleep hygiene, treatment plans, and use of medical equipment such as CPAP/BiPAP.
  • Prescribe and adjust medications and durable medical equipment in accordance with clinical protocols and supervising physician input.
  • Document patient visits, assessments, and care plans accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR).

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification and licensure as an NP or PA in Ohio.
  • National board certification or eligible (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • Prior experience in sleep medicine is not required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervising physician and interdisciplinary teams.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • 100% outpatient-based position in a dedicated sleep medicine clinic.
  • Typical work hours: 8 am – 5 pm Monday–Friday; no overnight or on-call responsibilities.
