UNC Health Cary Ortho is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic orthopedic team. This position will work alongside a hand and upper extremity surgeon. The role will primarily involve clinic-based responsibilities with opportunities for hybrid scheduling. 

Schedule & Flexibility: 

• Current schedule is 4 days/week, with options for 4 or 5 days/week based on candidate preference 

• Hybrid scheduling available, such as 4 days in clinic and 1 day in urgent care 

Candidate Background Preferences: 

• Recent training or experience in orthopedics is preferred 

• Open to new graduates 

• Seeking candidates genuinely interested in orthopedics 

Call Responsibilities: 

• Shared call within the practice 

• Nurse Practitioner provides backup call when the physician is on ER call. 

• No primary call responsibilities, but option to take primary call can be discussed. 

Ideal Candidate: 

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program 

• Valid NP Licensure in North Carolina (or the ability to obtain) 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with autonomy

Education Requirements:
● Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina.
● Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Demonstrated clinical competency.
● Effective leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
● Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
● Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.
● Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
