Job Description

Location Detail: 435 Lewis Avenue-Midstate Med (10123)

Under the supervision of the Regional Operations Director for the Connecticut Orthopedic Institute (COI), Central Region, the Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations throughout the continuum of the surgical episode for the COI program at MidState Medical Center (MMC).  Effectively leads the programmatic initiatives including operational excellence and efficiency, service delivery, growth management, and financial performance.  Works collaboratively with the COI physicians, offices and program leaders to sustain or advance the program and improve quality. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provides day-to-day operational leadership as it pertains to the continuum of Institute operations and is individually responsible for the Institute and is accountable for its performance.   

  •  

  • Supports team members and ensures quality and service excellence for COI patients. Collaborate with the COI physicians and program leaders to ensure coordination of processes and goals are achieved.  Facilitates solutions for challenging situations within our program. 

  •  

  • Builds cohesive relationships with internal and external customers and ancillary departments at MMC.  Serves as the primary stakeholder in new product/equipment requests as well as physician recruitment, engagement, experience, and retention.   

  • Is accountable for data collection and analysis related to financial, operational, and quality performance, as well as patient care experience.  

  •  

  • Generates reports to monitor that data and make strategic business decisions.  

  • Primary stakeholder in Institute operational budget and programmatic development that reflects required workload, forecasted units of service and programmatic changes. Assures appropriate fiscal management of COI program and the proper utilization of HHC’s financial resources.  

  •  

  • Provides clinical support as delineated by education and professional certification(s) when needed to support the team.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Master of Health Science
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Health Administration
  • Current and valid license in the state of Connecticut to practice as a Physician Associate, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Nurse Practitioner
  • Current and valid license in state of Connecticut to practice as an RN, PT, OT, or APP
  • 2+ years of previous administrative, operations, managerial, and/or leadership experience
  • ·      5+ years of professional orthopedic and/or neurosurgical clinical experience
