
Bon Secours Surgical Specialists – Harbour View is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and growing surgical team. Located in beautiful Suffolk, Virginia, our practice is adjacent to our new state-of-the-art Bon Secours Harbour View Health Center, just off I-664 near the Monitor Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel — with easy access, ample parking, and close proximity to Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Carrollton.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides high-quality care in bariatric medicine, reflux, and surgical weight loss. Experienced NP or PA is preferred - however we welcome new graduates with previous medical/RN experience in a surgical or weight management setting who are eager to grow in a supportive environment.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Setting: Primarily outpatient clinic at Harbour View; occasional coverage at partner sites in Virginia Beach or Franklin
Patient volume: 16–22 per day after orientation and ramp-up
No call responsibilities
Optional inpatient rounding (as needed) at Maryview Medical Center or Harbour View Health Center
Technology: EPIC EMR and MyChart for virtual visits
Manage and educate patients in medical and surgical weight loss programs
Evaluate candidates for bariatric surgery and medical therapies
Collaborate with a skilled team of surgeons, dietitians, and clinical staff
Provide patient counseling on medications, meal replacement options, and comorbidity management
Complete documentation within 24 hours of each encounter
Serve as a respectful, collaborative leader supporting clinical excellence and teamwork
You’ll join a well-established team of 6 surgeons, 4 nurse practitioners, and 1 physician assistant, all dedicated to compassionate care and strong work-life balance. Mentorship is available for early-career providers.
Licensed NP or PA in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or eligible)
Prior experience in a surgical or bariatric care setting required - new grads WITH PREVIOUS WORK HISTORY in a surgical setting, a history with weight loss care, bariatric surgery and reflux will be considered
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to timely, high-quality care
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
