Physician Assistant - Hospitalist

Responsibilities/Job Description:

The Hospitalist team at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant who is passionate about inpatient medicine and excited about clinical quality. This role will function as a critical member of the health care team working collaboratively with a group of Hospitalists (both physicians and advanced practice providers). The care team delivers care to inpatients at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center; both East and West Bank campuses.

Practice Details:

• This position meets our patient needs through working block schedule of 7 on 7 off.
  • Minimum of 30% evening work will be required
  • No nights!
• FTE is 1.0
• We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to work on various services.
  • Cross cover
  • Admissions, rounding, discharges
  • Medical consults on inpatient behavioral health
  • Rapid response and code sepsis, optional service
• Must be interested in working in a large academic environment with high acuity and complex patients.
• We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Qulaifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• BC/BE through NCCPA
• Licensed or ability to obtain a PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Inpatient experience preferred
