Medical Optometrist

Position: Full-Time Medical Optometrist

Thurmond Eye Associates, a trusted leader in eye care for over 60 years, is seeking a Medical Optometrist to join our established practice in McAllen, Texas. Our high-volume clinics serve a vibrant, underserved community with a wide range of pathology, and this role provides the chance to practice at the top of your license, with full support from a multidisciplinary team.

This is a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in medical optometry, working alongside experienced ophthalmologists, including subspecialists in retina, glaucoma, cataract, and more. The incoming optometrist will immediately have access to a full patient panel, strong co-management pathways, and operational support from Ascend Vision Partners.

• 1 scribe + 2 techs per provider to support efficient, positive patient flow

Ideal Candidate

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program

• Strong clinical training in ocular disease and medical optometry

• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required

• Excellent communicator and team player

• Passionate about delivering patient-centered care in a high-volume setting

• Open to new grads or experienced ODs
