Banner Children’s Specialists is seeking a motivated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our highly dynamic Pediatric Forensic team in Mesa, Arizona! This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of a growing program dedicated to the evaluation, management, and follow-up care of children with findings concerning for maltreatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive evaluations and coordinate care for children referred for forensic assessment.
•  Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care.
•  Participate in prevention and advocacy projects focused on child protection and family support.
•  Engage in ongoing professional development and have opportunities for leadership in program initiatives and projects.

 Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) in the state of Arizona (or ability to obtain prior to start).
•  DEA with prescriptive authority required
•  Previous NP experience required, 1- 2 years' experience in Child Maltreatment, Advocacy, or Prevention preferred
• Schedule, M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm with no overnight call.
• Call: Every 3rd week (7 days) M-Sun | 630a-11p
• Experience and Interest in Teaching/Presenting Education to other Health Care Professionals preferred.
•  Access to ongoing training, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities.
•  Strong ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in child maltreatment, advocacy, or prevention.
• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills.

Banner Children's at Desert Medical Center provides comprehensive pediatric care from general to emergency, as well as services for specific childhood diseases. Highly trained physician specialists, social services staff and numerous integrative therapy programs ensure a complete range of care for children. We have a child-friendly atmosphere accented by soothing colors and dedicated play areas, as well as a volunteer dog therapy program that helps cheer up young patients during their stays.

Banner Children's at Desert Medical Center features 248 beds, specially trained nurses and doctors and family-centered care as well as an expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – from 65 beds to 86 beds.

• Six pediatric operating rooms featuring 25 private, child-friendly pre- and post-op areas.
• An expanded Pediatric Emergency Department, increasing from 15 to 26 beds.
• Outpatient Treatment Center includes 16 beds that can serve as overflow for Emergency Department during peak evening hours.
• Dedicated Pediatric Radiology Department.
• Dedicated Pediatric Rehabilitation unit.
• Dedicated pediatric cancer and blood disorder unit.
• Dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, with shelled space for future PICU expansion.

Banner Children's at Desert Medical Center is located in Mesa , AZ. is located just 15 miles from Phoenix and is home to more than 430,000 people.
