Cardiac Surgery Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts which consists of an academic medical center, three community hospitals and the region’s largest multispecialty group.  Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate. 

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Join our cardiac critical care team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA in providing care to our pre- and post-op patients.
• Team consists of 10 experienced APPs who work closely with cardiac intensivists, cardiac surgeons, invasive cardiologists and heart failure attendings.
• Work in our cardiac ICU and step-down units. Busy traditional cardiac surgical program providing the full gamut of surgical procedures, robust mechanical circulatory support program with durable implantable ventricular assist devices and temporary circulatory support platforms including ECMO.
• Outstanding orientation is provided to all new APPs joining the team. Once fully trained, enjoy a high level of autonomy with 24/7/365 support from intensivists and surgeons. 
• This full-time position includes 6 twelve hour shifts in a 2-week period and is a mix of days, nights, weekend and holidays. We also have a full time nocturnist role available.

• Qualifications: Acute Care Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants with a minimum of 1 year ICU experience.
• The compensation range listed below represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.  Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.  Minimum= $140,400.  Maximum= $177,840.
