Perm Neonatology Nurse Practitioner – Macon, GA
Overview:
Atrium Health Navicent’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital in Macon, Georgia, is seeking a highly qualified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated team of neonatologists and NNPs. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive acute and chronic neonatal care in a state-of-the-art Level-III NICU serving a diverse and complex patient population.
- Collaborate seamlessly with attending neonatologists, multidisciplinary teams, and subspecialty support to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment strategies, and perform procedures pertinent to neonatal care within the NICU.
- Manage a full scope of neonatal health issues, including ventilatory support, nitric oxide therapy, and brain cooling procedures.
- Serve as a clinical instructor and mentor for medical students and residents, including participation in clinical appointments at Mercer Medical School.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Provide guidance and support to family members to ensure supportive, compassionate care.
Shift Details:
- Variable shifts including 10-hour daytime shifts Monday to Thursday, 8-hour weekend shifts, and 16-hour night shifts with no on-call responsibilities.
- Schedule flexibility designed to promote work-life balance and sustain long-term professional engagement.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) by a recognized certifying body; FNP or PNP certifications are not acceptable.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent, full-time NNP clinical experience in a neonatal intensive care setting; recent graduates or those with less than two years’ experience will not be considered.
- Proven ability to manage high-acuity neonates with confidence and professionalism.
- Experience with advanced neonatal procedures such as high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, and neonatal cooling therapies preferred.
- Must hold a valid state license to practice as an NNP in Georgia or be eligible for licensure.
