Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine IN

Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Nurse Practitioners with a background in general medicine to perform one-time compensation and pension exams, as well as separation health assessments, across various locations nationwide. This PRN position is ideal for clinicians who value flexibility, professionalism, and the opportunity to serve our Veterans. You will conduct interview-based exams, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. The role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, supporting veterans' health assessments on your schedule.

Required Skills:

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
• Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
• Ability to perform both interview-based and physical assessments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, professional, and self-motivated with a commitment to providing high-quality care

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with compensation and pension exams or military-related assessments
• Familiarity with veteran healthcare protocols
• Experience with report writing and administrative documentation
• Certification in additional medical disciplines or specialties

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
• Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
• Prior experience conducting or participating in VA or military veteran assessments is a plus

Other Requirements:

• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of designated locations or have their own office space where applicable
• Willingness to work PRN on a flexible schedule, including single-day or half-day shifts
• Ability to complete credentialing and onboarding promptly
• Commitment to attending all required training sessions, with completion bonuses available
