Overview:
VHS, a Maximus company and a trusted government contractor, is seeking qualified Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This PRN position provides flexible scheduling—whether you prefer half-day or full-day shifts—allowing you to fit meaningful work into your busy life. You will focus on interview-based assessments, including physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, without prescribing or treating patients. Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky (KY) or eligible to practice in KY
- Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
- Strong assessment and interviewing skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments (range of motion testing, muscle strength evaluation)
- Excellent organizational skills for report submission and documentation
- Reliable access to a private office space within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY (for office-based assessments)
- Willingness to travel locally as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with compensation and pension exams
- Knowledge of veterans’ health assessment procedures
- Certification in relevant medical specialties
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (ARNP, DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in general medicine or related fields
- Prior experience with government or military health assessments is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Own or have access to a suitable office location in Kentucky for conducting evaluations
- Ability to work PRN schedule, including days and hours that fit your availability
- Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify for bonuses
- Commitment to adhere to all applicable licensure, certification, and confidentiality standards
