Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine KY
Are you a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner looking to make a meaningful impact in veteran healthcare? Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking qualified General Medicine Providers to perform important Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Kentucky. In this role, you will conduct primarily interview-based assessments with some physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing—no prescribing or treatment involved. You’ll utilize your expertise to support our nation’s Veterans through efficient and accurate evaluations, helping ensure they receive the benefits they deserve.
Required Skills:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky
- Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, or general medicine
- Experience with physical assessments and interview-based exams
- Ability to work independently within your own office in the Kentucky area
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with compensation and pension exams
- Familiarity with veteran healthcare requirements
- Additional certifications or credentials related to veteran health assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
- Prior experience in a similar assessment or evaluation role is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Own a qualified office location within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY
- Ability to perform one-time non-treatment assessments with flexible scheduling (½ day or full day shifts)
- Willingness to complete required training and onboarding promptly
- Reliable internet and access to necessary telehealth tools
- This is a PRN, ongoing role with scheduled start date on 03/06/2026
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $402, with rates inclusive of travel and administrative tasks.
