We are seeking skilled and compassionate General Medicine Providers to deliver essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Alaska. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our nation's heroes while maintaining a flexible schedule that works for you. Whether you operate your own office in Juneau, Sitka, or Delta Junction, or are looking to expand your professional experience, this role offers meaningful work and competitive compensation.

In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments, perform limited physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, and provide crucial insights to support Veterans’ benefits processing. This position is ideal for providers with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields, particularly those experienced with compensation and pension evaluations. You will work on a PRN basis, with the option for half-day or full-day shifts, allowing you to balance multiple commitments while contributing to a vital cause.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in Alaska.
  • Experience or familiarity with general medicine, compensation, and pension evaluations preferred.
  • Ability to conduct interview-based assessments and perform basic physical examinations.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Reliable access to a private office within specified radius (Juneau/Sitka within 50 miles; Delta Junction within 75 miles).

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience with veterans’ health services.
  • Knowledge of physical assessment procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills for report submission and administrative follow-up.
  • Familiarity with VA forms and documentation processes.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner studies.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related fields.
  • Prior experience in compensation and pension assessments is advantageous but not mandatory.

Other Requirements:
  • Own office location in Juneau, Sitka, or Delta Junction (local candidates only).
  • Ability to perform exams on a PRN basis starting from March 6, 2026.
  • Willingness to complete required training and initial exams to qualify for bonus.
  • No prescribing or treatment responsibilities during exams.
  • Local travel included in the rate; no out-of-pocket travel reimbursements.
  • Quick credentialing process and streamlined onboarding.

This is an outstanding chance to work with a dedicated team committed to supporting our Veterans while enjoying competitive pay and flexible hours. If you meet these criteria and are eager to make a meaningful impact, we strongly encourage you to apply today and join our mission-driven team!
