Overview:
Blanchard Valley Health System, a highly regarded non-profit healthcare provider and member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, is actively seeking a full-time, experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join its reputable General Surgery team in Findlay, Ohio. This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver comprehensive surgical care within a dynamic and technologically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during a broad spectrum of general surgical procedures, utilizing advanced surgical technologies, including four da Vinci Xi Surgical Robots.
• Perform postoperative rounds, monitor inpatient patients, and manage consults in collaboration with physicians.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations, evaluate acute surgical and critical care conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Prepare and write detailed daily progress notes, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless communication within the care team.
• Place preoperative orders for scheduled surgeries, ensuring optimal patient preparation.
• Assess outpatient consults, devise surgical or endoscopic treatment strategies, and discuss postoperative care plans directly with patients and their families.
• Interpret imaging modalities such as Ultrasound and CT scans to inform clinical decisions.
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide education during regular operating hours (Monday-Friday).
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to foster a flexible, growth-oriented surgical practice that emphasizes quality care and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA) with current licensure in Ohio.
• Board Certified (VMS certification required).
• Proven experience in general surgery, with proficiency in both operative and inpatient care.
• Strong communication skills, compassionate patient engagement, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records, preferably Cerner EMR system.
