Job Title: Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care (Full-Time, Locums to Perm)

Position Overview:

We are seeking highly qualified Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to join our urgent care centers in a full-time, permanent capacity. This opportunity is ideal for providers committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be interested in transitioning from locum to permanent employment and possess a strong foundation in emergency medicine, urgent care, or family medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment to adult and pediatric patients aged 6 months and older, independently managing all aspects of patient care within the urgent care setting.
• Perform a variety of procedures including incision and drainage (I&D), laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other minor procedures.
• Utilize the Epic EMR system accurately and efficiently for documentation, billing, and ordering diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with support staff and on-site supervising physicians to ensure quality care and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Educate patients and families, provide counseling, and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
• Maintain certification, license, and credentialing requirements, including Medicare enrollment processes.

Qualifications:

• Valid Board Certification (BC) in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certification (e.g., NCCPA, NP Boards).
• Active state licensure to practice in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 12 months of relevant clinical experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice.
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications such as ACLS are a plus.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system required; prior experience with modified or training versions preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong soft skills required for one-on-one patient and staff interactions.

Work Environment:

• Urgent care setting handling adult and pediatric cases, with services including minor procedures.
• Support staff including Center Managers, Medical Assistants, Patient Service Associates, and Supervising Physicians.
• No on-site supervision required; supervising physicians are provided remotely for APPs.
• No call responsibilities; work schedule to be discussed during onboarding.

Additional Details:

• Position involves multiple locations within approximately a 65-mile radius of the candidate’s residence.
• Clinical onboarding, EMR training, and initial competency assessments will be completed prior to solo shifts.
• This role does not include travel reimbursement; mileage will be reimbursed for local support.
• Candidates must specify availability and willingness to work at designated sites.
