The MetroHealth System, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, Urology division is seeking full time Advanced Practice Practitioner. The successful candidate will deliver direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services to urology patients in the hospital, ASC, and office settings.
- Manage acute and chronic urologic conditions, including general urology (urinary dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, stone disease), urologic oncology (cancers of the prostate, bladder, or kidney), reconstructive urology (including gender-affirmative care and post-trauma care)
Provide education, disease prevention, and pre-operative and post-operative instruction.
Ability to see patients independently, as well as in collaboration with physician.
Must maintain a pleasant and professional image and demonstrate compassion and empathy when dealing with others.
Must acquire the ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner.
Required:
Nurse Practitioner required credentials:
- MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program
- Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio
- Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire
Physician Assistant required credentials:
- Graduate of an accredited Doctoral or MS Physician Assistant program.
- Current PA licensure in the State of Ohio.
- Board Certification as a Physician Assistant from NCCP Current BLS
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within first year of practice
- Meets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within MetroHealth
- Maintains a supervision agreement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of Medicine
Preferred:
- Urology Experience (but will provide at least 6 months of training in clinical urology for those candidates with no prior exposure to urology)
- Expertise in sexual health
- High quality of nursing competence and strong patient communication and engagement skills
- Experience with diverse patient populations
