Job Description

Location: Thornton, CO
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; clinic hours 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days per week
Compensation: $60–$80/hour (based on experience) + bonus
Benefits: Full benefits package available

Position Overview

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Thornton, CO clinic. This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Clinicians at NextCare enjoy true work-life balance, including no after-hours charting, flexible scheduling, and monthly schedules released in advance. Full-time schedules are designed so clinicians are off more days than they work.

You will be supported by experienced clinical teams, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits

  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging

  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management

  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly

  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR

  • Code and bill services appropriately

  • Maintain productivity aligned with urgent care benchmarks

  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Colorado NP or PA license

  • Board certification or eligibility, as applicable

    • PA: NCCPA certification

    • NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)

  • Active DEA license or ability to obtain

  • Ability to treat patients of all ages

  • Active BLS certification

  • EHR proficiency

  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays

  • DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

  • Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)

  • Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
