Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. You will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to critically injured patients .
- Provide care to general surgery and trauma patients at level 1 trauma hospital.
- 12 hour shifts to support mix of day and night coverage.
- Provide coverage to a 24 hour/7 day a week service line.
- Obtain pertinent medical history and appropriate physical exams.
- Orders and interprets pertinent lab and/or xray studies and conveys information to attending physicians.
- Document all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all necessary tasks in compliance with health system policies and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Counsels patients on pre and post-operative care, post-trauma care, recovery and expectations.
- Rounding with residents/students.
- Occasionally assist surgeons by providing first assistant surgical services
- Assists attending surgeons in hospital by making patient rounds, recording pertinent information in the patient’s medical record
- Prescribes medications within scope of practice and Arizona law
- Performs bedside procedures within scope of practice and delineation of privileges
- Keep medical knowledge and skills current through regular CME activity
- Maintain appropriate licensure required for role and active privileges at hospital
- Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job RequirementsPA Requirements:
- Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
NP Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
- Compact state or Arizona RN license
- Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
- Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC
- Valid DEA registration
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff

Pay Range$54.12 - $90.92 /hour
