ABOUT THE ROLE

The Advanced Practice Provider for Trauma / General Surgery Inpatient is an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team that works within the adult ICU, progressive care and acute care areas of the hospital. The APP primarily manages critically and acutely ill adults and serves as a resource throughout UKHC for intensive care interventions. The APP is generally on a service-aligned team and manages day-to-day patient care from the emergency department for trauma alerts, ICU level care and step down, to discharge. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for the same patient population as they return for follow-up in the outpatient setting.
