Daylight and Nighttime Hospitalist Opportunity

Penn Highlands Healthcare is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our Hospitalist team.

Join our team in expanding Hospitalist services to beautiful, Southwest Pennsylvania and growing our nine hospital healthcare system. Penn Highlands is currently seeking Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants at our Mon Valley location.

Position Details:

• Full time at Penn Highlands Mon Valley
• Daylight and Nighttime opportunities available
• 7 on/7 off scheduling
• Provides direct patient care for any patients admitted, observed, etc., in to the hospitalist service for treatment.
• Applies advanced professional practice knowledge and skills appropriate for inpatient care setting.
• Able to multitask between ED Admissions, answering floor calls and collaborating with ICU Team to trouble shoot critical issues at night.
• Be able to lead ACLS team during inpatient code alerts.
• Attend Rapid Response and Stroke Alerts.
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in documentation.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in all areas of professional practice.
• Learns to incorporate acceptable standards of professional practice as well as health system's goals to improve patient safety, quality and satisfaction.
• Formulates an independent plan of care and able to assess the acuity of patients being admitted for proper disposition.
• Demonstrates initiative and seeks formal and informal opportunities to improve clinical practice.
• Seeks guidance and asks questions to continuously improve patient care and treatment protocols.
