Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to cover a key locum role within our cardiothoracic surgery department. You will work in a fast-paced environment, combining inpatient post-operative care, ICU management, and pre-op physical assessments. This role offers an excellent platform for professional growth, allowing you to apply your advanced skills in a multidisciplinary setting while enjoying the support of a committed medical team.

Required Skills

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical or critical care settings
• Proficiency in diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and performing procedures such as suturing removal
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently within a team
• Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly EPIC

Nice to Have Skills

• Background in cardiothoracic surgery or ICU settings
• Advanced certifications in critical care or surgical nursing
• Experience working in high-acuity environments with trauma designation
• Bilingual abilities or additional language skills

Preferred Education and Experience

• Current Nurse Practitioner Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing
• At least 2-3 years in acute care, preferably in cardiothoracic or ICU units
• Prior experience in Level 1 trauma centers is advantageous

Other Requirements

• Ability to begin coverage on or around February 1, 2026
• Willingness to work 10 days/month, primarily weekdays, with some weekend coverage
• Must be credentialed within 60-90 days; efforts will be made to expedite
• Travel and accommodation expenses covered, including hotel, flight, and rental car as applicable
• Will work autonomously with physician rounding and 24/7 telephonic support
