We are currently looking for a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner to provide vital coverage at CHI St Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the gross examination of biopsies and complex specimens
• Perform and stain frozen sections with precision
• Follow established protocols for allocating medical renal and muscle biopsies
• Collaborate with pathology support staff, including grossing and histology technicians
• Work efficiently with EMR systems such as Epic and SoftPath in a fast-paced hospital lab environment

Required Skills:

• Nurse Practitioner license with relevant pathology experience
• Ability to perform frozen section cases and complex surgical resection procedures
• Strong understanding of pathology workflows and specimen handling
• Excellent attention to detail and diagnostic accuracy
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with EMR systems like Epic and SoftPath
• Prior experience working in hospital pathology labs
• Knowledge of medical renal and muscle biopsy procedures

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification
• Proven clinical experience in pathology or surgical specimen examination
• Previous locum or temporary staffing experience in a hospital setting

Other Requirements:

• Availability for coverage from December 29, 2025, through April 2025
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
• No overnight rounding required
• Willingness to accommodate travel and lodging considerations
• No specific credentialing needed beyond certification

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $0.00 (Please contact us for competitive rates)
• Support Staff: Grossing Tech and Histology Techs on-site
• Schedule: Days, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
