What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Ohio
- Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Proficiency in pre-op assessments, post-op care, and surgical documentation
- Strong knowledge of suturing, diagnosing, treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and medication management
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work autonomously with supervision available when needed
- EMR proficiency, preferably with EPIC
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma or high-acuity surgical setting
- Certification in Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery techniques
- Bilingual abilities or additional language skills
- Familiarity with hospital protocols and interdisciplinary team collaboration
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Current NCCPA certification
- At least 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in cardiothoracic or surgical subspecialties
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work 10 days per month, including over weekends
- Availability for call coverage at a 1:3 ratio
- Credentialing timeframe estimated at 60-90 days
- Ability to travel locally if needed; facility reimburses for hotel, flight, and rental car
