Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – NICU (Level III and IV)
$130,499–$195,749 annually | $62.74–$94.11 per hour + sign-on bonus Requirements to Apply - Graduate of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Active or eligible RN and APRN license for NNPs or PA license for PAs in Colorado
- National board certification (NNP-BC or PA-C with neonatal experience)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- BLS/CPR (AHA) required; PALS preferred
- 3 years of combined experience (RN/NP/PA) in Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage critically ill neonates in high-acuity, fast-paced clinical settings
Full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant opportunity supporting high-acuity Level III and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units. This permanent NICU APP role provides advanced neonatal care for premature and critically ill newborns, including extremely low birth weight and medically complex infants, within a collaborative, academic-style NICU environment.
Job Overview The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant delivers comprehensive neonatal care across
Level III and Level IV NICU settings, including neonatal assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures, and family-centered care. Providers collaborate closely with neonatologists, bedside nurses, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to manage complex neonatal conditions, advanced ventilation, and critical care interventions. Candidates may be aligned to either Level III or Level IV NICU teams based on clinical experience and professional interest, with identical scope of practice across acuity levels.
Schedule - 12-hour day or night shifts with optional 24-hour shifts
- 6-week scheduling blocks
- 0.9 FTE commitment:
- 18 twelve-hour shifts per scheduling block or
- 9 twenty-four-hour shifts per scheduling block
- Average schedule of approximately 3 twelve-hour shifts per week or 1–2 twenty-four-hour shifts per week
Compensation - Hourly: $62.74 (minimum) | $78.43 (midpoint) | $94.11 (maximum)
- Annual: $130,499 (minimum) | $163,124 (midpoint) | $195,749 (maximum)
Sign-On & Relocation Incentives - $10,000 sign-on bonus for a 1-year commitment
- $20,000 sign-on bonus for a 2-year commitment
- Relocation assistance available starting at $1,800+, based on distance and candidate needs
- Incentives apply to qualified external candidates relocating 100 miles or greater
