Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical settings.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including first assisting in the operating room.
• Conduct inpatient and outpatient assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
• Participate in scheduled clinic hours, outpatient care, and emergency response including on-call duties.
• Perform inpatient rounding and respond to callbacks during call shifts.
• Support surgical teams during procedures and post-operative care.
• Comply with all institutional policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.

Required Skills:

• Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current certification.
• Proven experience in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery or related specialty strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with surgical first assisting.
• Knowledge of advanced cardiovascular procedures and post-operative management.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
• Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
• Minimum of two years' clinical experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic care.
• Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:

• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and nights.
• Ability to handle 24-hour call rotations (7-8 days per month).
• OT compensation for hours exceeding 40 per week.
• Must adhere to all licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement policies as applicable.
