Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical settings.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including first assisting in the operating room.
- Conduct inpatient and outpatient assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
- Participate in scheduled clinic hours, outpatient care, and emergency response including on-call duties.
- Perform inpatient rounding and respond to callbacks during call shifts.
- Support surgical teams during procedures and post-operative care.
- Comply with all institutional policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.
Required Skills:
- Valid state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current certification.
- Proven experience in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular surgery or related specialty strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with surgical first assisting.
- Knowledge of advanced cardiovascular procedures and post-operative management.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
- Minimum of two years' clinical experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic care.
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is highly desirable.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Ability to handle 24-hour call rotations (7-8 days per month).
- OT compensation for hours exceeding 40 per week.
- Must adhere to all licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement policies as applicable.
