We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to support our Cardiovascular Surgery department at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital. What You’ll Need:

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Michigan.
• Prior experience in cardiovascular or surgical settings preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Epic.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to manage a high patient volume with efficiency and compassion.
• Must be comfortable working independently during weekend shifts and on-call periods.

Nice to Have:

• Certification in Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, or equivalent).
• Experience in trauma or ICU environments.
• Familiarity with vascular surgery cases.
• Previous locum or temporary staffing experience.
• Bilingual skills to assist diverse patient populations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN or higher).
• At least 2 years’ experience in cardiovascular, trauma, or surgical nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to handle a high-pressure clinical setting independently.

Other Requirements:

• Availability to work four 10-hour days per week starting February 2026.
• Participate in a rotational schedule: 1 in 4 weeks on call (from home) and 1 weekend per month.
• Manage an average of 15 patients daily; weekend volumes may increase.
• Must be available for all scheduled shifts and on-call requirements.
• Reimbursement for travel, lodging, and mileage at IRS standard rates.
• Compensation to be discussed based on experience and specific assignment needs.
