Neurosurgery Lead Surgical Advanced Practice Provider
JOB PURPOSE:
Performs a variety of patient care activities in accordance with established standards and practice. Responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties and clinical activities of the APP’s in a variety of settings to include but not limited to the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises and provides leadership to a team of APP’s.
2. Responsible for and collaborates with Administrative leaders on all Staffing decisions for APPs in designated area, including but not limited to the following:
a. Schedules & Recruitment
b. Annual reviews
c. Performance/behavior management
d. Compliance with annual training, flu shots, etc.
3. Supports the overall day-to-day administrative and clinical activities of the team, provides expert medical care under the direction of the supervising physician.
4. Maintains an effective operating environment in which assures effective, efficient and safe operations of the team that responds to patient, physician and staff needs.
5. Acts as a liaison between Physicians, Administrative Team and APP’s in order to promote cohesiveness.
6. Performs assigned shifts as an APP to support the team.
7. Manages up matters of significance to Administrator.
8. Maintains sufficient scheduling to support volumes and to manage crises events

· Skill and ability in electronic medical records applications.
· Ability to work as a member of a team.
· Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with team members and patients.
· Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Ability to understand legal issues that influence the practice of the APP’s.
· Ability to lead a team maintaining professional demeanor.
· Ability to build effective relationships within and outside PHC.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations and assist when only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Qualifications - External
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing, OR graduate of a Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Three years of previous supervisory or lead experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia OR Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, and WHNP). Updated NCCPA certification for PA’s.
