Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine – Houston, TX

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to provide essential care through Compensation and Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference while enjoying competitive compensation and flexible scheduling.
In this role, you will perform interview-based assessments with some physical evaluations, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, strictly focusing on evaluations with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. You will play a vital part in supporting the health and well-being of our service members’ veterans, contributing to a meaningful national service.
Required Skills:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Texas
- Experience in General Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields
- Familiarity with compensation and pension exam procedures is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments and accurately document findings
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience performing Compensation & Pension exams
- Knowledge of veteran healthcare protocols
- Experience with medical record documentation systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Experience working with veteran populations is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must have own office within 50 miles of Houston, TX, for providers operating independently
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible hours
- No travel reimbursement beyond local mileage
- Ability to complete exams and submit reports efficiently within scheduled time slots
- Certification in CPR and applicable licensure requirements
