Job Description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), you will join a growing, physician-led practice at Dignity Health Medical Group - Stockton, playing a pivotal role in the continued success, clinical delivery, and development of our regional Surgical Oncology service line.

You will provide expert outpatient clinical care, working primarily alongside our dedicated Surgical Oncologist (Dr. Pahlkotter) and occasionally collaborating with our general surgery team. You will focus heavily on managing breast cancer patients, delivering compassionate care, and contributing significantly to shaping a robust, patient-centered oncology network in a highly collaborative environment alongside clinical leaders.

To be successful in this role, you will be a licensed Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with a deep commitment to the long-term care of oncology patients, strong clinical assessment skills, and a desire for structured surgeon mentorship. This opportunity is highly New Graduate Friendly and structured to support an exceptional work-life balance, offering a 100% outpatient clinic role with zero hospital responsibilities, flexible scheduling, and optional procedural training avenues.

  • Deliver comprehensive, 100% outpatient surgical oncology services, leading initial patient consultations, coordinate diagnostic workups, managing routine follow-up visits, and directing post-operative clinic care.

  • Provide a primary clinical focus on breast cancer patients, navigating them through treatment timelines, performing physical assessments, managing wound care, and facilitating long-term survivorship surveillance.

  • Participate in elective Operating Room (OR) clinical training if aligned with your professional goals, utilizing direct mentorship from the surgical team to build first-assist or surgical technical proficiency.

  • Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with a dedicated network of general surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and regional clinical leaders to optimize patient care and multidisciplinary tumor board pathways.

We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:

  • Salary range: $145,000–$165,000 / yr plus bonus incentives

  • Flexible Scheduling Options: Choose between a traditional Monday through Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm) schedule or a 4-day workweek layout, with no hospital responsibilities and absolutely no weekends or call constraints

  • Dedicated Surgeon Mentorship (New Graduate Friendly): Receive full clinical training and onboarding directly under our Surgical Oncologist, making this an ideal opportunity for a motivated new graduate committed to the oncology field

  • Optional OR Training: Enjoy the flexibility to step into the OR and receive formal surgical first-assist training if you have an interest (completely elective based on your career preferences; RNFA required for participating NPs)

  • Generous sign?on bonus and relocation assistance

  • 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance for you and your family

  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility, an employer-sponsored pension plan, and annual CME allowance

  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification (or eligibility to obtain)

  • RNFA certification required for Nurse Practitioners electing to participate in Operating Room training
