Ophthalmology Advanced Practice Provider

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Lebanon, NH

The Section of Ophthalmology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH is seeking two Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with RNFA-certification to serve the needs of our robust and established practice. In this role, you will work closely with our highly skilled ophthalmologists, optometrist, technicians, and residents to optimize patient care and outcomes. You will work collaboratively in the outpatient setting to facilitate clinic visits and consults, perform H&Ps for surgical preparation, perform minor procedures and IV injections, and first-assist in the OR. This position will support both comprehensive and subspecialty ophthalmic care, with opportunities to further develop knowledge, skills, and abilities within specific subspecialties.

This position offers the opportunity for on-the-job training to develop your knowledge and skills in ophthalmic care. The ideal candidate will have experience in ophthalmology, but the most important qualification is a strong interest in learning ophthalmology.

This is a full-time day shift position with call responsibilities limited to a structured, pre-scheduled rotation with supervision and back-up from an ophthalmologist. Highly motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
  • National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only)
  • Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
  • BLS certification
