Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery Atlantic City, NJ

Overview
We are seeking dedicated NP or PA trauma professionals to provide high-quality care at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will support trauma alerts, surgical consultations, inpatient care, OR support, and rounding, ensuring patients receive prompt and expert treatment. Supervised closely by in-house physicians, this role plays a crucial part in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on patient safety and excellence in trauma care.
Required Skills
- Active NP or PA license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or acute surgical care
- Proficiency in trauma assessments, surgical procedures, and emergency interventions
- Ability to perform procedures such as chest tube placement, central lines, arterial lines, and minor suturing
- Effective communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively under supervision in a hospital setting
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) responsibilities
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
- Prior experience in Level II trauma facilities
- Ability to manage ventilation support (BiPAP/CPAP)
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in emergency situations
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
- At least 2 years’ relevant trauma or acute care experience
- Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred
Other Requirements
- Local candidates preferred (Mileage reimbursement only)
- No license eligibility or credentialing delays anticipated; existing license required
- Willingness to work scheduled weekends, nights, and varied shifts within the 12-hour window
- Valid DEA and BLS certification required
