Responsibilities/Job Description:

Fairview is seeking a WEEKEND ONLY Nurse Practitioner Adult Psychiatry Inpatient to join our growing inpatient team at the newly opened Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. This is a part time opportunity to provide support for acute inpatient psychiatric services for adults. The nurse practitioner will be required to come onsite to deliver care.

This state-of-the-art, 144-bed behavioral health hospital was purpose-built to support patients with acute mental health needs in a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment. As our program continues to expand, advanced practice providers have the opportunity to help shape scheduling, workflow, and clinical program development in collaboration with engaged hospital leadership.

Practice Details:

• Setting: Inpatient
• Schedule: Choose to work Saturdays, Sundays, or a combination of both days
• Shift Options: Flexible shift options (e.g., 8 12 hour shifts depending on needs)
• Minimum commitment: 2 3 shifts per month
• Compensation: $85/hour
• Admission support and crisis intervention
• Psychotropic medication initiation and adjustments
• Cross-coverage of existing inpatients
• Collaboration with onsite nursing leadership
• Structured handoff to attending providers

• Structured, team-based coverage model ensuring 24/7 continuity of care

• Multidisciplinary treatment teams including nursing, therapy, and social work

• Participation in daily interdisciplinary rounds

Onboarding & Support:

• Access to EHR training in WellSky
• Behavioral health team orientation
• Supportive credentialing timeline and structured reporting
• Ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.

Qualifications:

• Master of Science Nursing Master s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
• Previous experience in the care of inpatient psychiatric and addict patients as an advanced practice provider
• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Board Certified ABMS or AOA
• Previous experience in acute care, adolescent care and/or geriatric care preferred
• PMHNP certification REQUIRED
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is required
