Certified Nurse Midwife Opportunity in Petersburg Virginia

We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Women’s & Children’s program. This role offers a balanced inpatient and outpatient practice, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to program development and maternal health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pregnancy consultation and management, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Perform and interpret advanced fetal imaging and ultrasound
• Deliver inpatient consultative support for Labor & Delivery and triage
• Manage 25–30 outpatient visits daily
• Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe treatments per Virginia regulations
• Educate and support patients and families
• Respond to patient calls and electronic messages; ensure completion of referrals

Additional Duties

• Participate in 1:4 call rotation (OB, L&D, triage)
• Engage in quality improvement and program development initiatives
• Optional involvement in staff and provider education
• Opportunity for expanded inpatient or Labor & Delivery roles
• Approximately 4 hours of administrative time weekly

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
• Eligible for Virginia licensure
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Interest in ultrasound and consultative care preferred
