Required Skills

• Active California licenses and CA DEA registration
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• For Physician Assistants: PA-C credential with general surgery experience
• For Nurse Practitioners: ACNP credential and national certification
• Proven experience with general surgical procedures and patient management
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to shift schedules of 10 hours (8am-6pm)
• Comfortable working independently within scope of practice

Nice to Have Skills

• Prior experience in urgent or emergency surgical settings
• Familiarity with hospital privileging processes
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Bilingual proficiency to serve diverse patient populations
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards

Preferred Education and Experience

• Physician Assistants: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies; 2+ years of surgical experience
• Nurse Practitioners: Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with surgical specialization; 2+ years of relevant clinical experience
• Board certification or eligibility within 3-5 years of residency completion
• Previous work in hospital or surgical center environments

Other Requirements

• Must have a clean professional file; providers with unresolved issues or documentation gaps will not be considered
• Willingness to work 2-week on/2-week off schedules or longer availability as required
• Current hospital privileges or ability to qualify quickly
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel-related reimbursements
• Commitment to maintaining current hospital-based clinical activity records and case logs
