Career Overview – Full-Time Physician (MD/DO), AFC Easley Urgent Care

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Physician  to join our AFC Urgent Care Clinic in Easley, SC. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, fast-paced urgent care environment while enjoying predictable scheduling and strong organizational support.

As a member of our urgent care team, you will evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of non-emergent illnesses and injuries, supported by experienced medical assistants and front-office staff. Our clinics operate seven days per week, offering consistency, work-life balance, and meaningful connections with patients and colleagues.

Urgent Care Scope of Services

  • Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
  • Occupational medicine services, including workers’ compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
  • On-site diagnostics, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
  • Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for walk-in urgent care patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
  • Collaborate closely with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Educate patients and clearly communicate care plans and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous professional growth.
  • Travel Requirements: (required)
    • Up to 20% floating to other clinics as needed (mileage reimbursed over 30 miles)

Qualifications

  • Preferred:
    • Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience
  • Required:
    • Minimum of 2 years of active experience 
    • Current, unrestricted South Carolina medical license (active before starting)
    • Active DEA and CDS licenses (active before starting)
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
    • DOT certification within 60 days of hire
    • Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages, including infants and geriatrics

Clinic Hours

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Clinics are closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

Work Hours

  • Full-Time:
    • Week 1: Three 12-hour shifts
    • Week 2: Two 12-hour shifts plus weekend
    • 39 hours per week.
    • 1optional administrative hour per week dedicated to charting
    • 2-week schedule

AFC Urgent Care – Easley is a full-service urgent care clinic providing high-quality, walk-in medical care to patients in Easley and the surrounding Pickens County area. As part of the AFC Urgent Care network, the clinic is designed to deliver timely, efficient care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries without the need for an appointment. The facility is equipped with on-site diagnostic capabilities, including X-ray and laboratory services, enabling comprehensive evaluation and treatment during a single visit. Clinical services include care for acute illnesses, minor injuries and fractures, laceration repair, vaccinations, physicals, and occupational health services.
