Manager Clinical Program CRNP - APP Education

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Clinical Program – CRNP (APP Education) to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of educational initiatives for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This role is instrumental in advancing clinical excellence, professional development, and evidence-based practice across the organization.

 

Position Summary

The Manager, Clinical Program – CRNP (APP Education) is responsible for designing and managing APP educational programs, including onboarding, orientation, continuing education, and competency development. This role collaborates closely with clinical leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure APPs are supported in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of APP education programs, including onboarding and residency/fellowship initiatives
  • Design and implement competency-based training and ongoing professional development for CRNPs and other APPs
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify educational needs and align programming with organizational goals
  • Oversee curriculum development, simulation training, and continuing education offerings
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, credentialing, and accreditation requirements
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis, outcomes tracking, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and professional guidance to APPs across specialties
  • Support recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies for APPs
  • Partner with academic institutions and internal stakeholders to enhance clinical education opportunities

Work Experience

  • Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
  • Active and unrestricted Maryland licensure as a CRNP
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as an APP, preferably in an academic or acute care setting
  • Prior experience in education, program development, or leadership strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, clinical training, and evidence-based practice
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Preferred experience with APP residency or fellowship programs
