In the Navy, Sailors spend a great deal of time on their feet — from Machinist's Mates traversing every inch of a ship to Boatswain's Mates standing watch on deck. As a Navy Podiatrist, you play a vital role in keeping the fleet mission-ready. Physicians from civilian backgrounds are welcome — no prior military experience is required.
This is a unique opportunity to practice full-scope podiatric medicine and surgery in a mission-driven environment, free from the insurance approvals, billing burdens, and productivity quotas of traditional private practice.

Professional setting and work environment
Practice in modern, well-equipped hospitals and outpatient clinics in highly desirable locations nationwide, including California, Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Hawaii, and Washington state. Serve active duty Sailors, Marines, veterans, and their families in settings that prioritize clinical excellence. Participate in humanitarian and disaster relief operations — including deployments aboard the USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy hospital ships — extending your impact beyond the clinic.
Reserve option
Serve one weekend per month and two weeks per year while maintaining your civilian practice. Reserve podiatrists receive their choice of up to $50,000/yr in specialty pay, up to $250,000 in loan repayment assistance, or an immediate $10,000 sign-on bonus.
You’ll have the opportunity to care for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families in well-equipped, collaborative clinical settings across the country. Practice in modern hospitals and outpatient clinics in highly desirable locations nationwide, including California, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, and more.
