The U.S. Navy is seeking Audiologists to safeguard the hearing health and combat readiness of active duty service members, their families, and retirees. Candidates from civilian backgrounds are welcome — no prior military experience is required.

Position Highlights

Qualifications

• Au.D. or Master's degree in Audiology from an accredited program
• State licensure (any U.S. state)
• Board Certification: CCC-A (ASHA) or American Board of Audiology (ABA)
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ages 18–41 (commissioned officer track); no upper age limit for civilian GS track
• Ability to obtain and maintain clinical privileges
• Civilian GS-12: minimum 1 year of professional audiology experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Civilian GS-12 salary: $89,939 – $116,925 (Portsmouth/Norfolk, VA — Virginia Beach locality)
• Active duty officer base pay: ~$60,000 – $80,000+ based on rank and years of service, plus:
• Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) — varies by location
• Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS)
• Specialty/incentive pay up to $50,000/yr (Reserve)
• Sign-on bonus: up to $10,000 (Reserve track, immediate one-time)
• Student loan repayment: up to $250,000 (HPLRP or Reserve loan repayment)
