Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our emergency medicine APP you will; Serve as a critical lifeline in Oakes, ND, a close-knit community, practicing broad-spectrum Emergency Medicine and directly responsible for initial patient assessment, treatment, and stabilization for a vast, appreciative service area. To be successful in this role you will; Be a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine APP (NP/PA) with a passion for high-impact practice and a desire for meaningful patient connections over bureaucratic frustrations. Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • will have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program
  • will have Emergency Room or Inpatient experience of 1 year or more, required
  • board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Hospital Medicine
  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certified
  • will have the qualification to successfully obtain an unrestricted Minnesota practice license and DEA
  • interested in a shift-based condensed work schedule 
  • have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • demonstrate the ability to work independently
  • demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing patient demographics and needs

CHI Oakes Hospital is a 20-bed critical access hospital that provides various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is also a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly-constructed in 2007 replacing a 50-year old building and in 2010 Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital building. The hospital is part of a larger values-based organization CommonSpirit Health.
