Job Description

About this role: 

This Advanced Practice Provider (APP; nurse practitioner or physician assistant) will be an integral member of the Neurosciences team at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah—a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center.

In this role, you will partner closely with a neurosurgeon and another APP to provide care for patients with a broad range of neurosurgical conditions, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and tumors. Responsibilities include delivering care across the outpatient clinic and inpatient settings, as well as first-assisting in neurosurgical procedures in the operating room.

In this position, you can expect to:

  • Practice at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
  • Split time between the outpatient clinic and hospital, including:
    • First-assisting in surgical cases
    • Inpatient rounding and consults
    • New patient and follow-up clinic visits
  • Work a 40-hours/week, with dedicated clinic and OR days
  • Provide call coverage in support of the neurosurgeon, approximately 5–6 days per month, including weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays (call in addition to standard 40-hours/week)

What you’ll bring: 

  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program 
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
  • BLS certification and DEA 
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
