Position Summary

Froedtert ThedaCare is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the growing Shawano Call Group as a regional Float Provider. This critical role ensures continuity of care across our Shawano, Clintonville, and Tigerton clinics by covering unplanned absences and expanding same-day patient access.
 
Position Highlights:
  • Targeted Experience: This position requires an experienced clinician capable of managing both full-spectrum Family Medicine and acute Walk-In care.
  • Flexible & Adaptable Coverage: Serve as a critical regional float provider with reliable transportation for rapid, same-day travel between Shawano, Clintonville, and Tigerton sites.
  • Dynamic Workflow & Access: Cover unplanned clinic and Walk-In absences; on open days, provide Walk-In care from 8:00a–10:00a before opening a dedicated same-day access schedule at 10:00a.
  • Comprehensive Care Group: Join the growing Shawano Call Group, managing patients from pre-natal/newborn care through end-of-life, with on-site physicians providing full OB/GYN and delivery support.
  • Growing Virtual Presence: Deliver modern care through a mix of traditional in-person clinic appointments and expanding virtual/telehealth visit platforms.
  • Balanced Rotations: Work-life balance includes a limited rotation of only 3 to 4 weekends per year and just one holiday annually (excluding Christmas and Thanksgiving).
  • Clinic Shift Hours:
    • Weekdays: 12-hour shifts (7:00a–7:00p) with variable scheduling flexibility based on clinic needs.
    • Weekends: 8-hour shifts (8:00a–4:00p)

Practice Description

ThedaCare Physicians Shawano ambulatory care center is a state-of-the-art, comprehensive outpatient facility designed to meet most a patient's health care needs under one roof. The facility includes in-house general surgery, gynecology, and psychiatry specialists as well as visiting specialists from nearly 20 different physician practices.  there are also comprehensive diagnostics such as laboratory, digital X-Ray, CT, and rooms to perform minor procedures such as colonoscopies under local anesthetic, as well as ThedaCare Pharmacy and ThedaCare At Home services.  In addition, the facility offers a fully equipped and staffed outpatient surgery center.


Shawano clinic integrates the services offered by both primary care physicians and specialists by co-locating them with diagnostic services in the facilities. Also, they stay connected real time through ThedaCare's electronic medical records system (EMR) in EPIC.

ThedaCare Physicians Shawano/Clintonville/Tigerton Call Group is the largest multi-specialty physician practice in the region. It began as a physician practice more than 60 years ago, and has been affiliated with ThedaCare for more than 15 years. It employs nearly 216 people, including 13 physicians. Almost 39,000 active patients in ten counties make more than 80,000 visits to ThedaCare Physicians Shawano annually.
