Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner PRN

Job Requirements

The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced, patient-centered care to individuals with serious, chronic, and life-limiting illnesses across inpatient and outpatient settings. The NP works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to manage complex symptoms, facilitate goals-of-care discussions, and support patients and families through serious illness trajectories.

This role supports University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and equitable care aligned with the University of Maryland Medical System mission.

Work Experience

Education & Training: Nurse Practitioner with appropriate Maryland licensure and credentialing to practice under the supervision of a physician in the state of Maryland. ANCC or Palliative & Hospice Medicine certification is preferred.

Work Orientation & Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of direct patient care experience in internal medicine or palliative care, hospice. Experience is appropriate to the management of chronic disease, end of life, comfort care and goals of care.
