Bon Secours is seeking a compassionate and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established Internal Medicine practice in Petersburg, Virginia. Full-time, outpatient opportunity
Established Internal Medicine practice serving adult patients (18+)
Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
1.0 FTE
New graduates welcome; experience preferred
Productivity-based compensation model
Ramp-up support provided
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory studies
Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with Virginia practice regulations
Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists and other healthcare providers
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
Respond to patient phone calls and MyChart messages
Review test results and communicate findings with patients
Participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives
Perform additional duties consistent with the scope of practice of a licensed Nurse Practitioner
Shared call coverage among three practices and seven providers
Weekend call rotation approximately every seven weeks
Average of 4–5 call days per month
Low call volume with collaborative support
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current Virginia Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain)
Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
DEA certification or eligibility
Strong communication and patient relationship skills

Southside Internal Medicine is a busy, established primary care practice in Petersburg, VA. Our 3 MD's and 1 NP provide care to patients age 18 and older. We're located just south of Richmond in the Tri-Cities area which incldes Petersburg, Colonial Heights and Hopewell. Our practice is just minutes from I-95 and I-295.
