Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a part-time (16hr/wk) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team in the Philadelphia, PA.

Shift: 10:30am-7:00pm Saturday & Sunday every other weekend, some additional hours if desired.

Earn 71.75/hr

About our team:

The Mental Health Walk-In Clinic is Philadelphia’s first and only behavioral health urgent care for adults (18+) needing same-day mental health care that is not an emergency.

We serve individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, and/or substance use concerns. Individuals will participate in triage, resolution-focused services, and aftercare planning to prepare for long-term recovery and connection to ongoing care. We serve individuals regardless of income or insurance status. Our services do not replace the need for ongoing mental health care; rather, we aim to reduce avoidable visits to crisis centers and emergency rooms by helping people get the care they need when they need it.

Position Details

The PMHNP provides comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health urgent care services to individuals. Working under the supervision of the psychiatrist, the CRNP will conduct evaluations, provide clinical interventions, and work within the multidisciplinary BHUCC team to deliver coordinated, quality care.  Duties include:

  • Conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnose behavioral health conditions, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the psychiatrist.
  • Managing medication treatment, including prescribing, monitoring effectiveness, and adjusting psychotropic medications as appropriate.
  • Delivering urgent behavioral health interventions, stabilization services, care coordination, and patient/family education.
  • Supervision of nursing staff - maintain accurate documentation, and support quality improvement, compliance, and organizational standards.
