Illini Hospital - Float APP

The Float Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide clinical coverage across multiple care settings, including Inpatient Hospitalist Services, Express Care, and the Emergency Department. This role requires flexibility to work in various departments based on organizational staffing needs while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Schedule

This position will rotate between the following departments and schedules based on operational needs:

• Inpatient Hospitalist: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Express Care: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Emergency Department: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Workdays will vary according to departmental staffing requirements and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care within assigned clinical areas.
• Float between Inpatient Hospitalist Services, Express Care, and the Emergency Department as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Adhere to organizational policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing patient care and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), as applicable.
• Appropriate certifications and credentials required for each clinical practice area.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on departmental needs.

Blessing Health System employs almost 300 physicians and advanced practice providers.  Blessing is the largest medical provider serving a 300,000+ population region composed of West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa.  The System operates Blessing Hospital, a 347-bed regional referral center in Quincy, Illinois, (population 45,000) and Illini Community Hospital, a 25-bed critical access facility in Pittsfield, Illinois, (population 4,200).
