Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Endocrinology team. This role is designed to provide critical panel support to our Practice Lead, Dr. Shea, ensuring seamless continuity of care through a highly collaborative, team-based approach. The ideal candidate will work directly alongside Dr. Shea to manage consults and foster long-term patient relationships within our thriving specialized practice.

Scope of Practice

  • Schedule: Full-Time 4 to 4.5 days per week (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with flexible morning start times)
  • Patient Population: Full demographic spectrum, including both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Comprehensive Primary Care: Specialized endocrine care managing the full spectrum of diabetes and complex endocrine pathologies, supported by an on-site comprehensive diabetes education center, Registered Dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Educator.
  • Clinical Workflow: Structured appointment times featuring 15-minute follow-ups and 30-minute consults, with a gentle ramp-up schedule starting at 4 patients per day in month one, moving to 6–8 patients per day by month two, and topping out at an average of 14–16 patients per day.
  • Clinical Procedures: Utilization of on-site diagnostic tools including DEXA scans, thyroid sonograms, and a full-service on-site laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate clinical experience in Endocrinology or Primary Care is preferred; highly motivated new graduates are welcome to apply if they have completed a dedicated Endocrinology clinical rotation.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Texas, with a commute time of 45 minutes or less to the office.
  • An approachable, collaborative, and progressive clinician who possesses a "no task is too small" team mentality.
