Overview

OSF HealthCare Saint Katharine Medical Center is seeking a motivated and collaborative Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team in Dixon, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons in a well-established practice while providing high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care.

 

Position Highlights

  • Work with a dedicated orthopedic surgery team consisting of 2 surgeons and 1 physician assistant
  • Mix of clinic, surgical first assist, inpatient rounding, and post-operative care
  • Opportunity to develop strong relationships with patients in a community-focused setting

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room
  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments
  • Develop treatment plans and provide patient education
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and rehabilitation teams

 


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Illinois PA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but new graduates with orthopedic rotations will be considered
  • Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills
