Primary Care NP/PA | HPSA 19 | NHSC Loan Repayment | Monday–Friday

Our community health center is searching for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our holistic healthcare ministry of more than 300 employees, including providers and support staff. Responsibilities:

• Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission and values of our organization with socio-economic and cultural sensitivity in mind.
• Compassion for patients, family members, and others; along with a nurturing spirit to provide care during stressful situations.
• Provide medical evaluation, treatment, and consultation services to patients of the clinic.
• Available to respond to emergencies and answer medical questions.
• Provides medical orders for prescription refills, administration of medications, ancillary testing, and/or referrals.
• Reviews ancillary test results and coordinates notification to the patient.
• Provides patient education as needed.
• Supervises patient care by non-clinic agencies such as home health care, nursing home, or hospice.
• Available to patients personally or through clinical staff to answer questions and relay information regarding their care.
  

  Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/Associate program
• Active and non-restricted Kansas state licensure as an APRN or PA-C, required
• Active and non-restricted DEA, required
• Current DEA certificate.
• Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements.

Experience:

• Experience in public health preferred.
  
• Previous medical office experience preferred.

• Qualified site for the KS State loan repayment program and Kansas Medical Student Loan (KMSL).
• $2,000 annual allowance for CE/Professional fees 
• 40 hours of additional CE time that is separate from PTO

Work Schedule:

Normal schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm., schedule may vary.

The Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center (KRRC) partners with hospitals, private practices, community health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and other organizations to help strengthen the health care workforce in rural and urban under resourced communities across the State. KRRC services are designed to assist Kansas communities in recruiting and retaining physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, APRNs, nurses, dental hygienists, allied health professionals, and behavioral health professionals. In addition to offering recruitment support for Kansas health care facilities and job search support to a variety of health care providers, the KRRC offers resources for CV/resume building, interview prep, and contract negotiation.  

Currently partnering with 55+ health care organizations, we serve as their initial point of contact and liaison in recruiting those seeking to serve in rural and urban underserved communities.

Our health center is a growing, dynamic, faith-based organization and the largest network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Kansas with locations in Wichita, Topeka, Clearwater, and McPherson.
